Patient-centered care starts with your communication

Does this sound familiar?

A patient calls to cancel an appointment. Your staff then spends untold hours calling other patients to fill the appointment. Leaving messages. Fielding return phone calls. Telling patients who call too late they didn't get the new appointment. Manually updating the schedule. Then, the process starts over with another cancellation.

Or, maybe the appointment doesn't get filled at all, because everyone's too busy to contact other patients.

It doesn't have to be that way

Cancellations are more than an annoyance. They disrupt your schedule, causing a domino effect of problems throughout your operation.

You can turn cancellations into new appointments.

Quickly. Easily. Automatically.

A Simple Solution

This is the 21st Century. There is a better way. A way you can easily fill cancelled appointments, see more patients, increse their satisfaction, and make better use of your staff's time and skills.

In fact, there are two ways.

Introducing Avenue and Boulevard

Avenue. Your ScheduleR's Best Friend

When you get a cancellation, your scheduler opens Avenue in any web browser, inputting information about the new opening. Avenue then goes to work, prioritizing and then texting patients on your wait list, one at a time according to your preferences, to offer the new appointment. When it finds a patient to take the appointment, it notifies your scheduler, who updates the schedule.

Boulevard. Seamless integration. Industry Exclusive.

Boulevard is the only software in the industry to automate cancellation, reminders and post-appointment communication.

Like Avenue, Boulevard automatically contacts patients on your wait list via text message. However, instead of requiring a separate browser, Boulevard integrates seamlessly into your scheduling system. Once the original appointment is scheduled, and the patient is placed on the wait list for an earlier appointment, Boulevard takes over. When appointments open up due to cancellation, Boulevard automatically contacts patients and updates the schedule. It can also automate appointment reminders and post-appointment follow-up.

Managing Appointment reminders

Avenue and Boulevard also offer a smart, simple solution for managing your appointment reminders. You can use them to automate email, text and voice reminders, and you can sequence and escalate them according to your preferences.

For example, you tell the system to send email confirmations to patients two weeks prior to appointments. If they don’t confirm, the system can send a text message three days before the appointment. If they still don’t confirm, it can place an automated voice call two days prior.

All you have to do is indicate your preferences for when and how you want patients to be contacted, and upload your patients’ appointments and contact information (Boulevard uploads it automatically).

Happy Patients, Greater Access

Offering patients the opportunity to be on a waiting list for an earlier appointment goes a long way. It instantly tells them that you care about their time and convenience, and that you want to provide them with the best care possible, as soon as possible.

Avenue and Boulevard make this extremely easy. Patients don’t have to download an app or do anything out of the ordinary. They just have to have a phone.

With fewer unused appointments, you’ll be able to see more patients and improve patient access levels.

As appointment lead times go down, patients will be more satisfied with their service, and your scores will go up.

Greater Staff Efficiency and Revenue

Staff will spend less time managing schedules, making outbound phone calls, leaving messages, fielding return phone calls, and calling patients back. Instead, they can focus on tasks that make better use of their time and skills.

More filled appointments means greater revenue, as a major cause of revenue drain is plugged.

Testimonial

“Avenue solved a couple big problems for us. First, it helped us take cancellations and turn them into appointments with other patients, so we didn’t lose the revenue we needed in our day-to-day operations, and we could keep our patient calendar optimized for our business. Second, by using this solution, we are maximizing access for our patients and families, helping to ensure the right care at the right time. It was a game-changing product for us.”

Making the process easier

Tom Dewane, founder and president of Jaystreet Technologies, saw a problem and knew there had to be a better way. When he couldn’t find one, he created one.

He was running a high-volume orthopedic practice in Wisconsin, when he noticed a problem. Quite frequently physicians were in his office, talking to him, at times when they were scheduled to see patients.

Why weren’t they seeing the patients? Because they cancelled or didn’t show.

Tom knew this had to stop, because any time doctors didn’t see patients was time they would never recover. Lost time means lost revenue, fewer patients seen, and nothing resembling an efficient practice.

Tom’s clinic handled cancellations the same many other clinics do. They either hoped a walk-in would show, or the schedulers would take the time to call patients, usually leaving a message, to offer a new appointment time.

The results were almost always the same - appointments went unfilled.

Tom thought there had to be a better way, and began looking for solutions. To his surprise, there were none to be found. No one had developed a solution to the problem.

Shortly after that, Tom founded Jaystreet Technologies with the bold mission of eliminating waste in healthcare. So far, the company has developed two products, Avenue and Boulevard, which automate the process of filling cancelled appointments and reduce the effect of a problem so many practices face.

The mission of Jaystreet Technologies is to look at issues within healthcare and ask the question, “How can we make this easier?” It was this approach that led to the development of Avenue and Boulevard. It also led to Tom being named a Healthcare Transformer by StartUp Health, an organization of entrepreneurs dedicated to reinventing healthcare.
